Sunday Lovely Sunday.

I don't know if and when I will finish that previous blog, about how I am spending my days. What I do know is that today is Sunday. My true day of rest. So very peaceful. I get to stay up on Saturday night and watch SNL, then crash in my bed. On Sunday's I don't wake till probablly ten or eleven. Then the rest of the Day is cake.

Saved Movie Review
One of the few means of outside entertainment I have is movies. Despite the outrageous costs, I try to fit in one movie a week. Last week I went and saw the latest Harry Potter film. Today I went to see "Saved" the new comedy starring Jena Malone, Mandy Moore, and Macaulay Culkin. The movie wasn't spectactular, but it was good. I certaintly wasn't offended by it, and I did find it funny many times. I did find it ti be a pretty good satire on High School life at a Christian High School. Going to a Christian school my whole life, there were some things that defenitly resonated with me and with what was on the screen. Christian High School is full of quite a bit of hipocracy, fakes, and just plane dorky things. A lot of people have bashed the film saying it was a Christian bashing film, but I foudn it to defenitly be more of a satire, that although didn't fall in with mainstream conservative Christian views, it did make a few good points on what some people accpet from Christians. I could probably write a few pages on the Theological points and abstracts the film talks about, but I would rather justsay that it was a good film, and that I enjoyed it. It was also great to see Macaulay Culkin in a good role in a decent flick. He was actully pretty funny and had some of the best lines. Also the movie had Marie Lousie Parker in it. And I think she is a babe.

Is it sad that I now look to work as a break from classes. Albeit, I am only takng two classes, and I only have those classes two days a week, but geez, now I remember why It was so easy for me to drop from school in the first place.

But now that I am back taking classes, I hope to never stop. I really am trying to stay motivated so that I can go from my classes now, to paramedic school, fire academy, finish my bachelor's, and then hopefully do some graduate work. Just sorta wish I had been this motivated while I was still at Biola.

I do have to say though, my school days are slightly tiring. I get up at 6am, shower, have breakfast, then make sure I am on the road by 7:30am. I then sit on te 5 freeway for anywhere from 45 minutes to 80 minutes to get to school. My first class is "Medical terminology," where we sit and go over all the different medical terms (Millions of them) and disect their word parts (About 500). It includes alot of scary moments where classmates (Who will soon be in the mdecial field) ask really stupid questions. It also includes really bad video presentations that seem like old slide shows put to video.

Sidenote: Anyone remember when back in the early 90's when schools had laserdiscs...and the were the cool new thing...going to change the way videos were done in class. What happened to that? I can now go down to Wal-mart and get a DVD with surround sound, but I am forced to watch VHS presentation of old slide shows about the Urinary system and its physiology.

Back to previous topic. The Terminology class ends around 1pm, at which point I head over to the local Baja Fresh, and I have my Tres Steak Tacos. I eat lunch while reviewing notes from my previous class. When finished I head back to school, were I hang in the library for 3 hours goofing of and surfing the internet.

Like now. But now I have to go. So I will finish these thoughts later.

My beloved Los Angeles Dodgers are looking for a team mascot. This scares me, and I now share this email i wrote to my good friend Ben about this subject.

I am sure you have heard by now, but in case you haven't, our beloved Dodgers are looking for a mascot. So our storied franchise continues to lose the classiness and charm it one had....all while the O'Malleys lounge around their Lake Arrowhead mansion using $20 bills to light cigars and purring premium gasoline in the riding lawnmower for their friendly mexican gardener (Who actually has a great grasp of english).

I can't imagine what good could come of a mascot for the Dodgers....except maybe a Sportscenter commercial where all the other mascots give it a hazing. I can see Mr. Met whearing a robe and smacking the Dodger Mascot in the ass with a wooden paddle, while Mariner Moose reads incantations from a thick leather bound tome. Billy Brewer is in the corner drunk, and Baxter (The Arizona Diamondbacks Mascot Cat......a cat.....for the DIAMONDBACKS) is sitting on a couch licking his crack. SO yeah other then that promo.....I see nothing good coming from a Dodger Mascot. Sidenote: Did you know the San Antonio Missions mascot is Henry, The Puffy Taco. Now I know what bobblehead to get you for your birthday.
